I'm sorry Jeff, innovative yes but I don't dig a single track of yours and I don't get the attraction. I've watched hours of slightly over or under bent sketchy licks waiting for the good bit to happen and it just dosen't.

Now when I say I've tried to understand, I mean I really have. I like nearly everyones playing except yours. I feel bad saying that but it's the truth.

If you like Jeff Beck then good on you but you are either over indulging in pointless tatseless music or you aint gotta clue really.

I miss Jimi Hendrix, he actually made decent tunes and made innovative sound natural and not like nails down a chalk board

Arrested? His finest hour! The unabashed novelty nature of that single and the Jonathan Ross style singing ("everything is gwoovy" etc) hint at some sense of humour rather lacking in his otherwise overly pompous canon.
To be fair, I suppose it is quite bad - maybe just cautioned?

Having played guitar for nearly 20 years and having not once been accused of being a virtuoso, one could speak of sour grapes... but no, you're right, enjoying guitar noodling should at best be a very guilty pleasure.
Who can say who or what will be the target of bunchofives next? Feel free to make more suggestions - The Eagles are in no way out of the frame...

Oh god. Did you have to dredge this up? I always felt that Jeff Beck was referred to in hushed tones by people who had stopped actually listening to music in the 1960s. Calling somebody a guitar virtuoso seems to be code for "unlistenable" - I'd rather have a riff that repeats for three minutes than an electric noodle session that goes on until Hell Freezes Over.

Which neatly segues to The Eagles (see what I did there?). Can you do a post on the Eagles careers post-Eagles? Focus particularly on "The Heat is On" by Glenn Frey, please. That tune ROCKS.
